God's Praises Tell
The Voice of Black Catholic Chicago
The Catholic Radio Show, "God's Praises Tell," was named and pioneered by the late Deacon Julius Frazier in the late 1990s. When Andrew Lyke became the Director of the Office for Black Catholics (OBC) in 2011, he took on the job of producing and, eventually, hosting the show. It became an effective media outreach for the OBC, along with the monthly online newsletter, "The Drum." Both initiatives were intended to raise awareness within the Black Catholic Community of Chicago of the richness of the Church and the history of Black Catholics, and to nurture a more cohesive identity among Black Catholics. This weekly half-hour program presented topics relevant to Chicago’s Black Catholic community. Andrew introduced his audience to Catholics who shared compelling stories about the positive impact of faith on themselves and others.
